Bachwoche Berlin 2011

Luckily I was not too jet-lagged on Day 1 of my visit to Berlin to catch the last Bachwoche performance at the Clarchens Ballhaus.  It was such a treat to see a group of immensely talented musicians playing purely for the love of the music.  The performance took place in the Spiegelsaal ("Hall of Mirrors") - an eerily beautiful 1920's ballroom with tall dark wooden panels, candlelit chandeliers and even what looked to be the original ornate crown molding, or at least what's left of it.  B and I shared a most delicious pre-concert margherita pizza in the courtyard restaurant and I would have to say that this is easily one of my favourite spots in the Mitte area.
